Take via Taranto and find on your right the post office (Samonŕ, 1935), relevant experience of the rationalist architecture of the ‘30s. You arrive at Piazzale Appio: under the arch of the Aurelian Wall, through Porta Piazza San Giovanni, enter on the square, where you’ll see the great Basilica (Galilei, 1735). Keep on your left the Basilica and the Vicariato Building, on your right the Scala Santa (Fontana, 1589) and go on the very end of the square, where you take via SS. Quattro. After the Monastero of SS. Quattro Coronati (IV century a.c.), go down by the omonimous road till Piazza San Clemente, where you can visit the wonderful Basilica. Keep on going for 200 metres and you’re in front of the Colosseum.
